Breathe!
In empty awareness
Of silk striped cement highways
Of oil cans and bent rims
Tired worn out tired
Piled to the signs
By the fences with green plastic
Chain link days
With candy wrappers
And empty Dr. Pepper plastic bottles
We stole checks from mailboxes
And bought what would take us away
In an abandoned rock store
We sat and talked
Of Covid and what there was to eat
The night was cold and we slept in an old car
Named Tomorrow
