In sixth grade in Livermore, CA we played hardball at school

It was at Almond Avenue School

I played left field-

I'd come from New Hampshire

And was a huge Carl Yastrzemski fan-

Rick Seaton

(The tallest guy in sixth grade- biologically advanced!)

Hit a single to left field

Routine single but

I saw he was going for second

(Oh I got him! I thought)

I fielded it cleanly 

And threw to second 

With all I had!

But it flew over 

The second baseman

And hit Rick Seaton 

running to second

In the head 

And knocked him out
