W.A. Foote Hospital August 25, 1960

 I was born in a "foot hospital"

My mom kept the newspaper from the day I was born

In Jackson, Michigan 

A convict ("a three time loser")

Was at the same hospital the day I was born

And tried to escape

The front page of the newspaper

Showed a plant box in the lobby

With crushed plants where a fight between

The convict and his guard had taken place 

He had tried to get the guards gun

But the guard shot him dead 

In a "foot hospital"
