I whispered

a forgotten shout

told lies to headlands

In military built buildings

   Wrote Jesus on a wall 

      The NIKE missile site

    Wore DEATH

in manicured lawns and chain link fences barb wired

  We ate apple slices

 and lemon cucumbers (I didn't have any)

   I found a sea soaked pink rose

and sherry found a rubber ball with a crack in it

I drew two eyes above its mouth

  And it talked 

We laughed and 

   Laughed 

It was a beautiful sunny

  February day
