a cold summer
morning
                           monday
with sirens
  fire trucks
   and neighbors
 someone's listening
   to an old record
of billie holiday

i left you
in the
   ford fairlane
 six cylinders
  cassette deck
    bolted to the floor
underneath
    the drivers seat

fire on
the plain
   grandma's walking
     miles
  to hear joni mitchell

slimey
cakes
of broken
arrows
imbedded in time's midriff
    steel the barriers
forsaken
  God has vanquished the
parallel Universe
   two-niverse
    the tuna-verse
  survives our sushi instincts
baring our forks
and double crossed knives
  of broken inlay
we house our base
demeanor in gourds
and saltshakers
   the ice of polar bears
 makes constellations
Arctos
   Ursos
      Oso
mi ojo

SF Bay Bridge

back to reality now
   ah thats good
it's nice and cool out
the fog hanging off San Francisco
sunny though
  perfect
perfect fucking day
people look at me when i go outside
i had to get some bottled cold brew coffee
$3.99 each
I got two
a pack of cigarettes
  reeses cups
and peanut m&m's
then i went back to my room
 and wrote this

we're dying down here
ah but what a way to go
 i've seen it
on tv
 we know the score
but who's playing
la dee da
la dee da

keep the line straight
  or not
whatever
   i'm a one trick pony
 living on air conditioning
    smoking a hookah
       sitting on my mushroom
   existence-
 underground-
 thats where life is -
planet of the apes
    seek the
 (fill in blank)
     save
save
   save
 control alt delete
    fireworks are cool
    Dr Pepper's pretty good
you can't always wear what you like
but if you try some time
   drum fill
 left handed drummer
   like falling down stairs
  ba dump bump ba dump
thump
 some tricky existence
    smoke another hookah there charlie
and look to the skies
  for chemtrail X
     he is the revelator

what am i supposed
to do
apologize for everything?
  is it my fault
 it feels like it is
    fuck
       recycling ain't gonna do it
 bulldoze
that shit
  right?
 "no" "junk" "cars"
said the sign at the dump
nearly lost my mind over THAT one

I ain't having
any of that
      (park rangers
   with snickers bars)
  no mesmerized embodiments
of
 an age-
  the clock has rung-
     we stand and watch
as the
   lemonade
       stands
          burn
 we lit them on fire
it was fun
  now the garage
    let's burn that

Rubric C. Cornelius
   held his tube aloft
      "See the bright skies!
and Purple mountain's majesty!"
the sun was burning his nose
  "ah to be like Icarus
  To fly to the sky
   to the sun
    to rise above
       to fly too high
          too fast
to watch the wax melt on your wings
                to watch them fail
                   and go crashing down
                      into the lake
                        or craggy rocks
                           like a beautiful Bruegel painting
                               crashing in the distance!"

there was a giant iceberg
    that gave birth
      to a despot
his people starved
 in the cold
   his neighbors
feared
for themselves
   he wore hats
and inspected
  his army
and his
  missiles
la la la

the face
   of gray day
 moving inside
  stirring the druid pot
     still lives
turned in ryhme
   basque gray day memory
 the flint
   of another day's bonfire story
all lies

I'm not sure why
  we were drinking champagne
the cigarette smoke curling
 deliciously
a stack of books on the table
it was all black and white

another one
of a boy
standing by
  a trailer
at the top of a cliff
  pointing down at the lake

I traced
 a broken memory
  of ground squirrels
on a hill
  sad and lonely
       getting shot at
standing on their back legs
wondering
what the fuck
