 The Saintly Bone
    Is missing
The reliquary is sans scapula
A detective has been put on the case
   "When was it last seen?"
"Umm, early part of the twelfth century?"
 "Alright, that helps."

 The candid actuary
  Calculating the life
    Of Awareness
    And Mindfulness
   Was 'divorced in Sparks'
And is now counting KENO cards
On the linoleum
And ordering a Grand Slam Breakfast
  For his Xylophone
 A stream of brackish night
    Waylaid our Errant Aristocrat
-Caught off guard on a rocky road in Bratislava-
(A lovely country under sunny conditions)
He found lodgings which were sadly not as advertised
Nonetheless a hearty game of pinochle and a bottle
Of Pine liquor rescued our knight from
  The Dragon of Melancholia
Clifford bought Christmas lights at the 99 cent store even though it was April and Clifford never put lights up at Christmas.
'Maybe I'll put lights up this year and get into the mood of the season!' He thought to himself. It cheered him.
The light had turned yellow but he thought I can make it as he dashed into the crosswalk.

POEM FOR ANOTHER DEAD DAYDREAM
 I moved the broken armature
  To 1914
The helmets in the bloody mud
     Dysentery figures roamed
No Mans Land
The needle fell on the disque
    Scratching the Bellflower Blues
    horses in barbed wire mudholes
        And trepanned soldiers
Crying Screaming
 For Mother
But the bullets had no name
    No days
       Like today

 The gray seat belts
    Wove there 63 vw bug
      nightmare dreams
    Into the nuns fabricated head
Glistening in the moonlight
       Down the forest
Trees and bristles cones and sap
 By the washing machines
    Where itinerant farm workers
        Harvested rust fish
Of. bolts and nuts of shiny steel
With eyes like an Australian Shepherd
And goat horns affixed to football helmets
  New Jersey Blackhawks
      You stole the shoulder pads,
   didn't you?

 The Mike
Of Brahms
     Struck a defensive posture
     Oh soothe
         Obsequious naysaying loser
Beating on the door at 3 am
"Have you got that stick of gum?"
And said wait
I've got to slam the window shut
       That'll show em!
Those Fuckers!
Who never cared about me! or
   my blue tarp
     With the shiny brass ringlets!
    Unfortunate
that it had to be like this
And I have to go to the dentist in the morning
Just a cleaning

 Oh mankind
   Ironic that
      Double edged blade
    Cuts fore and aft
    Sweet achievement in mendacity
     Mundane flowers bloom
         Crispin Glover sunsets give
     Hymnals
The green leaf knows no treachery
    The path is worn and
        The sun beats
    On heads
  Sweat drips
    Hey ho
  An alpine lake!
    With sweet trout jumping
    God knows!

 The mirror boasted
Of it's all too cunning ability
To represent reality or nature or
  Something to that effect
    But the Beast knew better
"They see what they want to see. There are no poison apples or dwarves that go a-mining."

 Adrift like a Wilson volleyball
I swore the goats legs were broken
The panacea of ocean cruising was lost
When the crabpeople became a thing-
My friend (who always wins at trivia night) said according to evolution the crab is the
inevitable form of all land creatures -
I'm not sure if he meant all genuses
Or if he was about to tell a stoner joke
   that involved a Genie.
TWO WISHES! NOT THREE!
