Fat marmots in town

have appeared in the Bay Area and are being cared for

   Yggdrasil was the Nordic Tree of Life and spanned some eight planets? realities? named for Odin's steed 

   where did the marmots come from? How'd they get here?

Marmots are known to crawl under motor vehicles and chew the parts for the salt - might have drank some anti freeze passed out and were carried away when the vehicle took off 

  Marmot groups are known as "a madness" and single marmots lose survival help if they are out of their madness. The madness signal predators and co-hibernate so surviving a winter would be difficult on their own. They also would not be readily accepted into a different madness making re-wilding difficult.
