The old guy
Drank two martinis at lunch
And commented
About every fat woman that
Walked by
"Is she pregnant?"
"Look at that Corvette. He doesn't know how to park."
They forgot the fries
So I got Bourbon Pecan bread pudding on the house
"Look at her fat rolls!"
And God in Heaven
  But nowhere near
Except
In your hand
  Or the sound
 What sound the
Sound
Of a sense
  Of profound
Malaise
 Really
Malaise?
Well yes sometimes
   Just dont make me
Go there again
What?
To Dunkin Donuts?
Yes.

   Shirtless
  He fucked the muse
And was born
  In and for sidewalks
      Bearded
 Drinking a dark beer
At 10 am
 On MacDougall & Bleeker
    Thousands passed by
Sitting between two cars
  Smoking a tossed cig

There were two views available;
     One of sadness,
   The other of hope
I chose the view less trammeled
I think it was channel 54
KTEH

Five pound bag of Cacahuates
   and a dying dog
I'm drinking a Japanese beer in a can
In a brown wrapper
In a chinese restaurant called Funland
Eating kung pao chicken with peanuts
No liquor sales at restaurants in this
1 mile square town
So I went across the street
 And got a beer
A Ukrainian woman with blondish hair
Was buying two bottles of red wine
 Two packs of Tareyton 100's
  And a roll of Rollaids
I got one too
She said "Always a good idea"
In a thick heavy smoker accent
And smiled.

Emiko's name got changed to Wilma on the big Island after Pearl Harbor
Most Hawaiian born moved back to Hawaii but one Japanese guy liked the skiing too much here in the states
There was no beer drinking in the matsuwa food court
 Nor nigori sake drinking
In the am we chopped down the bamboo
That was blocking the stairs
And the bridge
  No one noticed
Then we got in the Camry and drove
Across the bridge to the Cloisters
But no one was ever cloistered there
John D Rockefeller bought a ships worth
of medieval columns, buttresses, mouldings, stone relief carvings, tombs,
reliquarires, tapestries, paintings, chalices, sculptures, and
various other sundry what not and built a beautiful medieval cloister on the banks of Hudson rive near the George Washington bridge (which is a year older than Miko).

Mercury advances
Swift carrion of a day
   Purple eyed
     And water tower stories
"There was one just like that next to the house"
"I want to live in a water tower." I said
"I'll put windows in."
"Do what you want." she said
     As she drew
Her grandfathers painting in the Whitney
   Purple lips
    Danny Lyon
Was there in a photograph
The only one I looked at
 Too tired
    And mercury was calling
"Come out in the heat"
"We'll walk the highline but don't
Give money to the panhandlers."
We went to the gypsy cafe
She was 95 and she had the waffles
They looked good
Somehow her American Express card
Got lost
  Mercury hadn't touched it
We searched the underground parking lot
The old greek attendant smiled and
Told me to put out my cigarette
"Yes, yes I will!"
 We left the store
I bought a pin
It said
New
I wrecked the
    seer, no thats
Just my way
Of saying
   I have blinded
Or been blinded
    By the stature of
  Of the situation
  Not to say
 It's not unmanageable
  But ongoing or going on?
  Nonetheless
     The kitchen is cool
but we are in the living room,
See?
 Well no,
 I don't
 But neither do you
   The seer goes on
It's ongoing

The far fetched
Stretch of the number one line
  From the wrong station
    A's and E's rushing past
    Everyone getting on
       Except me
           The local, the local
I'm dripping with sweat
   Carrying two cameras
Like a fool
   And a tourist

Dusty St. Janus
   God of Teatro
       The legion of eyes
            There is film
                  But also heaven
 But your breathing
Is labored
You look like a whitewashed fence
Holding in a thousand years of retired mechanics
-what?
The principal devotee
Of the Bleeker St. encyclic
The dust balls breaming the sweat filled
Thoughts - thoughts like a muggy night
And casual margherita pizzas and
   Ice cream sandwiches
I eased myself into the turgid heat
  Turgid and turgider
   I guessed or approximated
The need
And packed accordingly;
Two slings
One medium stone
  a barrel of peanuts-
For the monkey
Never stopped chattering
   Some decisions were simple
Others reeked of old timetables
    But still I persevered
Foolishly perhaps
  But there was a method
To my sadness
  Which food, alcohol, and cigarettes
Would hardly allay
 It went like this-
Steam the labels off old cans
And put my labels on them
Add a bit of chicken poo
On the eggs in the carton
Then people would come from miles
Full of praise
  For the farm fresh quality
I replied stoically
Like any good farmer would

Black powder drawings
  Lines of the stems
     Leaves crying for trigger contours
The stones of the young wife's
Empty afternoons

There were some who thought
    The beast could be tamed
Others said kill it
But I said let it go
    And it will devour itself
  Foolhardy I know
For it came upon me one night
In the wilds of New Jersey
The air was thick with heat
And humidity
And I was in my underwear outside
Smoking a cigarette butt
   It smelled the smoke
And shined it's eyes at me
"It was you who let me go
And for that I should, by social propriety,
Give thanks, but instead I'll
Eat you with my horrible teeth."
"Well your breath has pretty much done
That already, filthy beast."

The abandoned memnonic devices
   Turned with a screw
      To forgetfullness
           And capriciousness
 A room uncleaned
Sleeping on a pile of laundered clothes
Cigarette butts overflowing the ashtray
But signs are hard to find
That are not filled with bullet holes
In this road side rest stop

Cathy V. in Joshua Tree
America got fucked again
but we don't want to know that
it sucks to get screwed by your own party
   who can deal with that
   so we deny, we disassociate
we obfuscate
we shame those who question
we belittle them
they're stupid
  how privileged are they?
     we are the good guys
we deal with reality
that's just incompetence
    not corruption, right?
 onward for the win
WE OWN THE FINISH LINE

"The leads are weak."

sentient frontloader bullshit
the quips
 and bare legged squats
so good to see you
here are the standards you seek
 as we lose ourselves
         in the mirage
its a beautiful oasis
   wearing white
                first
 and last chance
     pilot to bombardier
pilot to bombardier
 one adam 12
 see the woman
   a 459 in progress
have another beverage and then it's time to shop
the car needs more work done
    well
 call the plumber
