Leonard Cohen bought a compound bow
and shot an arrow into
the Statue of Liberty
  near her shin
  he took the ferry back to the city
   and was arrested
and sent to Rikers Island
  he met a young black man who
had been there for three years
because another kid said he stole his backpack
  he had never been tried
   Leonard looked at his arms
while the young man
 recounted his plight
