 I stayed from immaculate compromise

 I stayed from immaculate compromise
A sorry child with blond hair and blue eyes
I forged a sword of bitterness
For all the wrongs they'd done to me

Across a sea my vessel carried
Deep nights of Indian blood
And basmati strangleholds

Turning the eyeless wretches
To their mums
I carried broken arms to be repaired

The vitriol pervaded everything
I lied and cheated stole and simpered
I borrowed a yellow cat
Whose name I didn't know

Elastic truths were served en masse
I believed myself truthful
But time caught up to me

The moon was blood red
  And I was alone
Left to myself- an old rusty ford
  Needing a good tune up
