couldn't be
it was a two toned glove from the
early seventies
Blue and darker blue
I tried a couple on
they had a distinct smell
of dirt and dried leather
one had stains
that looked like dried blood
I'd seen kids hit in the head
by an errant swing
and waited with them
for the school nurse
I took the blue one
and walked to the counter
